HARRINGTON — Madalyn J. Foxwell, daughter of the late J. Watson Baker, Sr. and Edna F. Baker, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Mrs. Foxwell was a member of the Harrington High School Class of 1956. She was the co-owner/operator of Jones’ Country Store AKA Andrewville Store from 1959-1969. Following that she was a customer service manager for Reichhold Chemical for approximately 40 years until retiring.

In addition to her work, Mrs. Foxwell was a lifetime member of Prospect United Methodist Church, a member of Harrington Senior Center, the Women of  the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Potter County, PA, snowmobiling, fishing and traveling.

Madalyn was always smiling and to know her was to love her. She was a loving, caring, and giving person. The Matriarch and Glue of her family. A loving mom, sister, aunt, and mommom who will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Besides her parents, Madalyn was preceded in death by her husband Charles E.”Duffy” Foxwell, brother J. Watson Baker, Jr, and step-son Stephen E.  Foxwell.

She is survived by her son, Charles D. (Laura) Jones, Grandsons Dustin (Lindsay) Jones, and David (Lauren) Jones; 2 great-grandchildren Kayden and  Liam; Sister, Anna Mae (E. Alan) Draper, Sisters-in-law, Betty L. Baker, Jeannie (John) Jesse, Brother-in- law Robert “Bob” (Pat) Foxwell; Step-children, Richard (Debbie) Foxwell, Katie Foxwell; and Step-grandchildren, Brittany Foxwell, Kyle Foxwell, Kristy Foxwell. Special Nephews and Nieces, Joseph  A. Draper, Stephani (Tom) Gates, Judy Baker Smith, Billy (Luann) Baker, and several great nieces and nephews, along with her special long time  companion Jerry Vander Plasse.

Her family would also like to give a special thanks to her caregivers: Wende Davis, Laurie Westwood, Kayla Horne, Olivia Davis, and Hannah Tribbitt.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Melvin Funeral Home 15522 S. DuPont Hwy. Harrington DE from 11AM-1PM, Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1PM. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. 

 In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Prospect United Methodist Church or the Harrington Senior Center.
