Melvin Funeral Home is adhering to all COVID-19 protocols put in place by Federal and State guidelines which include social distancing, hand sanitizing, and masks. According to the CDC, at this time, there is no known risk associated with being in the same room at a funeral or visitation service with the embalmed body of someone who died of COVID-19; however, federal, state and local public health guidelines impact the size of a gathering.
The Federal Government has also implemented a COVID-19 Funeral Assistance program through FEMA. Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. Eligibility requirements may be viewed at www.fema.gov. Only family members may apply and all necessary documents and details may be viewed at the FEMA website. Applications are only being taken over the phone starting April 12, 2021, and the number to call is 844-684-6333 / TTY: 800-462-7585.

Where Loved Ones Are Cherished and Remembered
The Melvin Funeral Home has grown over the past several years with the support of Harrington and the surrounding communities. We offer a high level of care and excellence, and we strive to provide professional personal services and facilities at a fair cost. Our philosophy is that no two individuals are alike, therefore we encourage the personalization of every funeral. A funeral gives family and friends time to support one another, share memories, and commemorate a loved ones life. We consider it an honor and a privilege to be of service to you in your time of need.
