Leroy Patrick, 88 HARRINGTON — Leroy Patrick passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, with his family by his side. Leroy had fought a long battle with multiple myeloma.
Leroy retired from the DuPont Co., Seaford in 1991 after a 44 ½ year career. In addition he had a family farm where he grew small grain and raised livestock for 45+ years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He loved spending time with his family, friends and beloved collie dogs on the Patrick Farm.
Leroy is preceded in death by wife, Cornelia Elizabeth “Betty” Patrick; son, Richard Patrick; parents, Roy and Violet Patrick; and sister, Ruth Morse.
He is survived by sons, Greg (Mary) Patrick, of Milford, Bruce (Laura) Patrick, of Harrington; daughters, Aileen (Greg) Cartwright, of Greenwood, Faye Johnenne (George) Miller, of Harrington; seven grandchildren, who loved their pop-pop dearly, Amber and Ryan Patrick, Margaret Cartwright, Cpl. Gregory Cartwright, Cpl. Adam Cartwright, Lauren and Chris Miller; great-granddaughter, Hanna; great-grandsons, Shane and Daniel Cartwright; and many loving family members. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved miniature collie, Tammy; and cat, Bootsie.
On behalf of the Patrick family, we would like to thank Ms. Delphaine Reed for the exceptional care that she gave our father. In addition the family would like to thank the staff of Delaware Hospice.
Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE on Monday, Apr. 10, 2017 at 12 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday, Apr. 9, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Monday, Apr. 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
