Doris S. Roberts

Doris S. Roberts, of Harrington, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was 88 years old.  Mrs. Roberts was born in Lyndhurst, NJ, to the late Elwood and Marie Shultie.

Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker.  She stayed busy raising her children and participating in all their activities.  In her younger years, she also enjoyed gardening, and swing dancing with her husband.  Two of her favorite activities were crocheting and playing cards.  She enjoyed time with her family.  Whenever she ventured out of state for anything, she was always glad to be back in Delaware.  She truly loved it here. 

Mrs. Roberts will be remembered as outgoing and fun to be around.  She enjoyed community projects where she could lend a hand in helping others.  She was loved by many, and will be sadly missed.  

Mrs. Roberts was active in the Trinity United Methodist Church of Harrington.  She was also a member of the Red Hatters Society, and the Harrington Senior Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Terrell Roberts Jr.

She is survived by her son, Morgan "Terry" Roberts of Davidsonville, MD; daughters, Marie "Eileen" Roberts of Hackensack, NJ and Mary Lou Seifert of Summerville, SC; brothers, Richard Shultie of Harrington, Robert "Bobby" Shultie of Harrington; sister, Deanne Ryan of Harrington; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 1 PM.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church of Harrington.
