Donna D. Carter, 58

DOVER - Donna D. Carter, of Dover, passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital at the age of 58. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Carter and Sadie Carter of Harrington.

Ms. Carter worked at Catalog Resources in Milford and Rand Whitney in Harrington prior to becoming disabled. 

She will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person, with a huge heart, who would help anyone in need.  She also had a huge love for animals, and would save them all if she could. She donated to many charities to support animals in need.

Donna loved spending time with her family and enjoyed being a grandmother. She was known to enjoy the smaller things in life such as an ice cold Pepsi, her dog, relaxing and watching the news and animal shows.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Besides her  father, Robert Carter, Donna was preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher Carter.

She is survived by her only son, Warren "Tommy" Smith and his wife, Miranda of Dover; her mother, Sadie Carter of Harrington; brothers, Gary and Larry Carter of Harrington; two grandchildren Emersyn and Evan of Dover;  five nieces and nephews all of Harrington;  and her beloved dog, "Annie".

Graveside Services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Hwy, Harrington, DE, on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at noon.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home Inc. to help defray funeral expenses.
