William H. Smallwood, 69
FELTON — William H. Smallwood passed away Aug. 17, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late William B. and Mary Smallwood.
Mr. Smallwood proudly served three years in the U.S. Army working artillery maintenance. He was also a talented artist who loved to paint nature scenes, carve water fowl, draw cartoons, and taught classes through the Kent County Parks and Recreation. A lot of his art work was shown in the Dover Library, and the gallery of the Dover Art League.
Mr. Smallwood loved to tell jokes and spend time with his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smallwood is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Smallwood.
Mr. Smallwood is survived by his son, Adam B. Smallwood, of Milford; daughter, Rebecca E. Gillespie (Adam), of Magnolia; grandchildren, Emily, Abel, Hayden and Reagan; brothers, Edmond Smallwood and Mitchell Smallwood.
Memorial services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.
