Virginia Watts Obituary

Virginia C. Watts, Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Accent Care-Christiana Hospital, she was 92.   Mrs. Watts was born in Chester, PA to the late, Edwin and Ruth Craig.

Mrs. Watts taught college at the Del Tech Owens Campus for 15 years, as an Art Instructor prior to retiring as a program director for the Kencrest Agency.  At Kencrest, she enjoyed the opportunity of working with the mentally challenged.

Mrs. Watts has the distinction of being listed in the Who's Who of American Women as an artist, and also in the Cambridge Press 10,000 Notable Americans, as an artist.  Her first passion in life, besides her family, was her religion.  She was a proud member of the Seaford Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses and a witness for more than 60 years. Her second passion was art. She loved pen and Ink, oil painting and water colors. She covered a multitude of subjects but mostly painted what she saw.  Mrs. Watts zest for life and her caring nature will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lynch S. Watts Jr., siblings, Kenneth Craig, Carol Reed, and Barbara Jeanne Craig and a niece, Dyan C. Reed

She is survived by her children, Michael A. Meeds, Edwin L. Meeds, Brenda J. Parker, Monica F. Malandruccolo (John), Karen E. Watts, Dawn E. Watts, L. Kenneth Watts (Tricia); 3 nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren, numerous great, great great, and great great great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mrs. Watts, will be on Feb 4, 2023, at the Farmington Fire Hall, 20920 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1:00pm with the reception to follow. Burial will be private.
