Susan Clough Obituary

Susan A. Clough, of Greensboro, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the University of Maryland - St. Joseph Medical Center, she was 62.  She was born in Easton, MD to the late, Wilson and Louise Clough. She was a 1978 graduate of North Caroline High School.

Ms. Clough worked as a cook for many years in a variety of restaurant style establishments but by far her most known for role was at McConnell’s Fun Food that was in Denton, MD. She loved to cook and loved her job along with all her coworkers/friends she made through the years. She was employed at McConnell’s until the business closed. She enjoyed visiting the family farm in Virginia and looked forward to family reunions which always allowed for an extra visit to the farm. She moved to the farm to care for her Aunt Alene for five years.

Her favorite activities were shopping and looking for trinkets for her home as well as shopping for little surprises and yummy treats for her grandbabies, going to the Denton American Legion, listening to country music, and most of all spending time with her sister Barbara. She loved to go try new places to eat, and truly enjoyed her favorite places to eat with her boyfriend Gary and his mom who she adored. She would always be on the lookout for her daughter Elizabeth and brother-in-law Mikes favorite candies. And nothing beat a good fountain coke and cup of ice chips. She truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was always smiling no matter how tough times were.

She started every morning reading her Bible, and she went to the Greensboro Baptist Church when she could.  She leaves a hole that can never be filled and will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Chad) Larimore, grandchildren, Brystal and Leland; sister Barbara (Mike) Vonville, Brother Michael (Lori) Clough, estranged sister Cyndi Dominquez, sister-in-law Dee Clough, her boyfriend Gary Corkell, her lifelong best friend Diane “Yogi” Carroll, along with a host of extended family.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Clough will be on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at the Denton American Legion, at 1:30 PM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 12:30 PM.  Interment will be private.

A Go fund me has been created to help with medical expenses from her months in John Hopkins ICU. It is listed as My mom’s growing medical bills out of Greenwood, DE.
