Shane Zachary Pennell

Shane Zachary Pennell, 29, of Milford DE tragically passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023.  He was born on April 24, 1994, in Lewes Delaware to Melissa (Pennell) Holochwost of Frederica, DE, and Eric Mangle of Warren, Ohio.

Shane attended Milford High School later becoming an Electrical lineman for ULCS and recently started his own business Wild Man Firewood. He was very enthusiastic about growing his own business.

Shane was the oldest of five boys and enjoyed being an older brother, going to sporting events and cheering his brothers on.  He was a proud father of two beautiful girls, who were light in his life.  Being a father was a complete joy to him. Shane loved playing the guitar and singing.  He loved being the life of the party and loved to talk.  Everyone who knew him loved him.  He would come running with granny or when his mom called.  He was always checking on those he loved.  As a child, Shane started climbing trees as soon as he could walk. He was a good athlete and enjoyed lifting weights. He was an outdoors kind of guy and was most happy when he was outside working, riding his motorcycles, or just hanging around a bonfire with his friends and family.

Shane is preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth John Pennell; great-grandfather, Francis Eugene Timmons Sr,; and his great-grandmother, Marie K Davis.

In addition to his mother, Melissa (Pennell) Holochwost and father Eric Mangle; he is survived by his two daughters Autumn Jo Hurd and Raegan Lynne Wright; brothers, Colton Pennell, Gaij Copes, Averi Copes, Trevor Copes; grandmother, Sandra Jean Martinez (Rick); great grandparents, Robert and Sandra Rockwell; great aunt, Crystal Timmons-Bryant (Chad); aunts, Loni Pennell, Tish Lockwood (Herman), Shawn Caulk Moore; many cousins and great aunts and uncles.

A Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S Dupont Hwy, Harrington, DE 19952, at 1 PM.  A visitation will be two hours prior starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at the Barrett’s Chapel Cemetery, 6362 Bay Rd, Frederica DE 19946.

The family requests you come as Shane would know you or wear your favorite flannel shirt and boots in his memory.
