Mary J. Wisseman

Mary J. Wisseman, Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Harrison Senior Living of Georgetown, she was 92.  Mrs. Wisseman was born in Cheswold, DE to the late, James W. and Beatrice E. Greenly.

Mrs. Wisseman worked as a caterer for many years, and she worked for the Woodbridge School District as a cafeteria worker for many years. 

Mrs. Wisseman loved her family immensely and her children and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye and the love of her heart.  She loved her church family very much and her Faith and Love of God were very important to her.  She loved attending Heritage Bible Baptist Church of Greenwood.    

Special thanks goes out to the Harrison Senior Living of Georgetown for their exceptional care of Mrs. Wisseman while she was a resident there.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos E. Wisseman; and siblings, Eugene F. Greenly, William T. Greenly, John R. Greenly, James C. Greenly, Caroline Greenlee, Lillian Steel.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Diane) Wisseman; stepson, Carlos H. (Rosanna) Wisseman; grandchildren, Cheryl A. (Wayne) Hayes, Micky E. (Krista) Wisseman, Allison M. Wisseman, Kyle Wisseman, Kylsee Gault; 13 great grandchildren.

A Graveside service for Mrs. Wisseman will be on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood at 11 am.  Please note that the bridge on Rt. 16 prior to the cemetery will be closed, so please come into the cemetery via Rt. 36. 

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Heritage Bible Baptist Church, 6510 Hickman Rd, Greenwood, DE 19950.
