Joseph G. T. Brown, Sr., Milford, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from the Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, he was 80. Mr. Brown was born in Baltimore, MD to the late, William and Julia Brown.
Mr. Brown was the owner and operator of the Sussex Sewing Service for almost 50 years. He enjoyed sewing, stitching, leather work, and servicing all of the sewing machines. Throughout the years, he developed quite the following and served countless customers who relied on his talents. His first passion was sewing, his second was his music. He played guitar in his own band for many years, and he thoroughly enjoyed music. Another venture that he and his late wife, Frances was involved with was the Haven Lake Tropical Fish store that they ran out of their home. At one point he even had a pet alligator in his basement.
Although sewing was his life, Mr. Brown enjoyed other hobbies. In his younger days, he enjoyed scuba diving with his best friend Jeff, watching wrestling on TV with his good friend and neighbor Donald, or being outdoors, whether working in his yard, or just sunbathing on top of his shop. Mr. Brown will be remembered as a man of many talents, and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Frances H. M. Brown; and a sister, Julia Ward.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Brown (Benjamin T. DiDominicus IV); sons, Joseph G. T. Brown II (Debbie S.), and Joseph G. T. Brown III (Dinah R.); sister, Carol Beyer; grandchildren, Joseph (Seph) G.T. Brown IV, Leah Frances Marie DiDominicus; Lincoln James William Brown.
A memorial service for Mr. Brown will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 12 noon. A visitation for family and friends will start at 11AM.
