Jennifer L. Booker

Jennifer Lee Booker of Milford passed away Wednesday, April 17, after a short illness at The Center of Eden Hill Rehabilitation. She had just celebrated her 77 th birthday on April 3.

She lost her husband of 53 years, Douglas, last year. She was surrounded and supported after that and always by the rest of her family: son Brett Booker (Kathy), daughter Kristi Booker-Reisinger (Dylan); grandchildren, Seth Booker (Heather), Taylor Booker (Ja Quan), Paige Reisinger, Chase Reisinger, Kendall Reisinger, Joey Riley (Jessica), Luke Riley, and Abby Riley; and great-grandchildren Ava Baines, Karsyn Booker, Kamryn Booker, DJ Baines, Kori Booker, Kynnedi Booker and Ja Quan Jr.

Mrs. Booker was born in Pennsylvania to Glenn D. Campbell and Betty Jane Campbell. Her brother, Glenn Douglas "Dougie" Campbell passed as a child. While she was a teenager, her family moved to the Windy Hills development just outside Newark, and she graduated from Newark High School.

In August of 1969, she married Douglas, and they made their home for the rest of their lives in Milford. She spent 40 years as a beautician at various salons, ending her career by opening a salon in her home.

She loved to paint, and she loved to sit in the sun and to visit the beach. She loved sci-fi movies and Disney movies. But most of all, her life centered around her family – her family came first in her loves. She was a peacekeeper and a nurturer -- kind, generous, loving, forgiving and hard working.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6362 Bay Rd., Frederica, DE at 1 PM.
