Jehu M. Davis, Jr., of Milford, passed away at The Center At Eden Hill, Dover, on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the age of 90. He was the son of the late Mary and Jehu Davis, Sr.
Jehu “Jack” proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Army Reserves, as a Master Sargent, in 1979. Jack then became a systems technician with the telephone company.
Jack was a proud member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #9, Milford, where he served for over 66 years, reaching level 32. He was the oldest living past Master of the Lodge and was active in the Scottish Rite. Jack was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford.
For an older gentleman, Jack had a very busy life where he enjoyed staying active. He often had lunch with his retired Army reserves buddies, and the men’s group at Calvary UMC. Jack enjoyed traveling cross country with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. Known as a sweet, kind, caring man, he was never known to raise his voice. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas O. Davis and sister, Norma Potter.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marie Davis; brothers, Marvin J. Davis (Charlotte), Donald Davis (Geraldine), William Davis (Betty Lou); sisters, Joyce Cole, and Mary Ann Draper (William); several nieces and nephews.
A Masonic Service will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc. at 1 PM. A visitation will take place one hour prior starting at 12 Noon. Interment will be private at a later date.
