Harvey Smith Obituary

Harvey Smith, age 76, of Harrington, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Bayhealth – Kent General Hospital.   He was the son of the late, Robert and Edith Smith.

Harvey proudly served as a radio operator in the United States Air Force for six years.

After his time in the military, Harvey owned and raced horses.  His favorite horse was “Expect the Best”.

In his spare time, Harvey was a musician, and a song writer who was able to record his own music.  He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He was a solid Christian man, who was politically active, and often gave of himself.  Harvey was strong willed, stood his ground but would also stand up for others who were unable.  Harvey’s life circled around his family; he was an excellent father, and a loving husband.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah Smith; son, Elmore Smith (Donna Fuller); and his brother, Steven Smith.

Services will be held privately at the family’s discretion.

Donations can be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901, in lieu of flowers.
