Obituary

Betty L. Brown, of Houston, passed away surrounded by her family at the Delaware Hospice Center, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 93.  She was the daughter of the late Dwight and Gertrude Hanson.

 Betty graduated from Milford High School in 1946 prior to working for twenty years at Delaware Power & Light Company as a secretary.  She was a member of the Houston Methodist Church and the Harrington Senior Center.

 Betty was a quiet, gentle lady who enjoyed going to the beach, taking long country rides, and crossword puzzles.  She loved traveling with her children and visiting with family and friends.

 In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, P. Donald Brown and her sons, Stephen Brown and David “Chip” Brown.

 Betty is survived by her children, Wayne Brown (Paula), Glenn Brown, Deborah Zimmerman (Richard), and Donna Brown (Hal); a special niece, Rogette Clark; grandchildren, Philip, Kirby, and Kyle Brown, Todd Starke Jr., and Jacklyn Lewis; one great grandchild; and sister in law, Doris Townsend.

 A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 12 Noon.  A visitation will take place one hour prior starting at 11 AM.  Interment will take place immediately after at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
