Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Lee Baker, 73 MILFORD
Yvonne “Bonnie” Lee Baker of Milford passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Burton E. and Madalyn T. Satterfield.
Bonnie graduated from Harrington High School in 1960, and continued to remain close to her high school friends all her life. In high school, she was very athletic and belonged to the basketball team. Later in life, when her son Brian played hoops with his friends, she would join in and out- shoot them all. She also joined a tennis league and enjoyed playing tennis.
Bonnie worked with DelDOT for 34 years as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1991. She enjoyed playing golf, going to Jimmy Buffet concerts, and going to the slots. She was a ringleader, wherever she went, people followed her and loved her. She lived by the philosophy and often said, “I just want to make people happy and create loving and fond memories.” Her infectious smile, laugh, and legendary humor will be greatly missed, but will live on, as she passed those traits along to her close knit family and friends.
Bonnie attended Calvary Wesleyan Church, was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, and was a member of the Harrington High Alumni.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Baker; and brother, Kevin Satterfield.
She is survived by her son, Brian D. Baker of Milford; granddaughter who she loved immensely, Hannah Baker of Milford; sister, Cheryl (Bob) Nash of Milford; niece, Shelby (Kevin) DiCostanzo of Milford; and nephew, Joshua R. Nash of Milford.
Funeral Services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
