FELTON — Wilbur K. Gibbs died on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was the son of the late Alton, Sr. and Eunice Gibbs.
Mr. Gibbs loved his daughters and granddaughters dearly and were always talking about them. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, a veteran of Vietnam; having served both in Vietnam and the Philippines.
A carpenter by trade, Mr. Gibbs worked for Fluor Daniel Construction at the DuPont plant for over 20 years. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Dover, Milford VFW and the First State Antique Tractor Club. He also enjoyed antique tractors, going to tractor shows and attending tractor
pulls with his buddies. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing and clamming.
He is survived by daughters Nikki Manning and Savannah Durham both of N.C.; grandchildren, Brandi Pritchett and Siera Durham; brothers, George Engelhardt of Viola, Alton T. Gibbs of Felton, Riley Gibbs of Oak Orchard; sisters Mary Anderson of Dover and Thelma Hrupsa of Felton.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington with visitation one hour before. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery Harrington.
