FELTON - Wesley R. Martin Jr. of Felton passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 79. He was born to the late Wesley and Cora Martin.
Mr. Martin worked as a building inspector in the state of New Jersey for various townships. After retiring, he moved to Delaware with his wife to enjoy retirement. Together, they enjoyed going to the slots, going out to eat (spaghetti and meatballs were his favorite dish), and shopping, where he most likely ended up in the junk food aisle. They enjoyed going on day trips with the Harrington Senior Center. They also enjoyed cruises and travelling to places such as Hawaii, Bahamas, Nova Scotia, California, and Las Vegas. Mr. Martin also enjoyed bowling on a league in Milford and participating with the American Legion in Long Neck.
Mr. Martin's easy going personality and patience will forever be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by brothers, James, Charles, Daniel Martin; sisters, Dolores May, Dorothy Mackalleavi and Cora Melson.
Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Alberta Martin of Felton; daughters, Sherry Martin of Felton, Andrea Pappas of Woodstown, N.J.; grandchildren C.J. and Andrew; sisters, Doris Jarrel of Clayton, N.J., Nancy Wilson of Swedesboro, N.J. and Liz Trinkleback of Paulsboro, N.J.
Services are 12 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
