Vinson "Bud" Reynolds, 100 GEORGETOWN
On Sat Aug. 18, 2012, Bud Reynolds long awaited call home to Glory came!! What rejoicing there must have been!! He lived a long and fulfilling life for the Lord.
Born in Massachusetts, the youngest of five children, he was exceptional in everything he did. As a young man, he had a newspaper route with a horse and wagon. The paper back then was two cents. Later on he worked in the cranberry boggs, and then went on to working in Magnetic Metals as a Crane Operator. He also was self taught at the banjo and drums. At age 24, he tells the story that he went to church and prayed thru to be saved but nothing happened, but when he went home and took a shower, the victory came thru and he came out clean on the outside and the inside, a new man.
He married Alice Rickenbach, and they had six extraordinary children. Sadly, Alice passed away during surgery shortly after their sixth child. Several years later, he married Florence Ford, and joining their families, went on to be married for 49+ years. Bud retired from Magnetic Metals and went on to pastor a church in Burlington , N.J. where they lived for 25 years before retiring and moving to Hartly Delaware.
Bud is survived by his wife Florence; daughters, Carole Burnette, Nancy Hinds, Candy Reynolds; sons, Ronald Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Daniel Reynolds; stepson, Erwin Ford; stepdaughter, Dixie Wolf. Bud was also blessed and survived by many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by so many but we all look forward to that great reunion in heaven again someday!!!
Memorial services will be held at 1p.m., on Saturday Aug. 25, 2012, at the Sandtown Church of the Nazarene 448 Willow Grove Rd, Felton DE 19943. In Lieu of flowers please donate money to Nazarene Missions.
