Thomas W. Killen, 64
FELTON — Thomas W. Killen of Felton passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia. He was 64.
Tom served his country proudly in the United States Army for two years, and was stationed in Germany. Tom worked as a farmer on the family farm, where he loved to milk the cows and was even seen riding them from time to time. He also had worked at one time for General Foods, and Dills Arco.
His love of horses led him to become a trainer and also a vet assistant for over 35 years, where he worked at Harrington Raceway, Brandywine Raceway, and Dover Downs.
In his spare time, Tom loved to play cards, especially poker. In his younger days, he loved to bowl, but he also loved to shoot pool. At one point in his life, he shot professionally at pool in Las Vegas. He also loved to spend time with his many nieces and nephews. If he wasn’t playing baseball with them,
he was at their games watching them play.
Tom will be remembered as a kind and giving man. He would give you the shirt off of his back. He was very well spoken and never held anything back. He especially loved to joke around with his family and friends and loved to talk. He will be sadly missed.
Tom belonged to the Harrington Moose #534, American Legion CKRT#7, and the D.S.O.A.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester A. Killen; best friend and companion, Charlotte Stevenson; grandparents, Edgar and Olive Killen, Norman and Nettie Maloney Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine Killen; brothers, Robert A. (Sue) Killen, Donald L. Killen and Roy L. (Suzie) Killen; sisters, Faye K. (David) Dill, Nancy K. (Jack) Dickerson, Connie K. (David) Billings, Peggy K. (Ron) Ivory, Ellen K. Mitchell, Eleanor Killen and Robin D. Killen; very good friend, Sandy Correll; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
