Teena Sallustio

Teena E. Sallustio, departed this world on January 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family, born to Grady and Kathleen Stafford. She was the beloved wife of Frank Sallustio, her devoted husband of 59 years, and the cherished mother of Michael Sallustio (Anmarie Touloumis) and Melissa Ellis (Charles Ellis). She is also survived by her sisters: Joyce Kluczynski, Susan Walter, and Sherry Dude. Teena's legacy is further enriched by her adoring grandchildren: Annalie Ellis, Samuel Ellis, Ainsley Ellis, Siena Sallustio, Keira Ellis, and Jackson Dobbs. Teena was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sandra Myers.

While raising two children, Teena managed to earn her Associates degree with honors and served as a personnel specialist with the Naval Academy. She also volunteered her time to bring comfort to hospitalized patients and food security to children in her community. Her commitment to both family and career exemplified her strength and dedication. Teena's life was a testament to the values of unconditional love and unwavering support. She attended every significant and seemingly insignificant event in her children's and grandchildren's lives – birthdays, graduations, promotions, performances, and more.

Teena loved reading, painting, crafts, and traveling. Her sharp wit and pithy retorts brought laughter to every room she entered. Even during her final days, battling numerous health challenges, her sense of humor remained intact. The mention of her children and grandchildren would light up her face, showcasing the joy they brought to her life.

Teena leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and laughter. Her tapestry of memories will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the positive impact she had on the lives of others.

A memorial service to honor Teena Elizabeth Sallustio will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE at 1 PM. A visitation will take place one hour prior, starting at 12 Noon.
