Steven L. Curtiss, Harrington, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, he was 68. Steven was born in Milford, DE to the late, Calvin L. and Phyllis A. Curtiss.
Steven worked for the State of Delaware in the Department of Transportation in the Materials and Research Department, a job he enjoyed, and retired after 32 years of employment. Not content to sit still, he soon opened his own business, Perfect Finish Powder Coating, which he has ran the past 15 years. Steven loved to restore old equipment and make things new again. Always on the hunt for his next project, he loved to scour the countryside both far and near to find his treasures to restore. When he was not on the hunt, he was in his shop working hard or entertaining the countless friends and buddies who would stop by. Steven also worked part time for the Harrington Raceway, he enjoyed being part of the harness racing, and also enjoyed making and repairing horse sulkies.
When Steven was not hard at work, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs. Playing music on the organ was another favorite hobby. Steven was known for his laid back nature. He was a devoted family man, even working 4 jobs at one point to provide for them. He was truly a loving husband and the best daddy that one could ask for, he will be sorely missed.
Steven was a member of the Saint Bernadette Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Curtiss; children, Christine (Charles) Wilhelm, Greg (Erin) Curtiss, Natalee (Jag) Hitchens, William (Nicole) Brown, Nicole (Jason) Sapp; sister, Kathy (Mark) Gove, and 12 grandchildren.
