Sharon E Rash

Sharon E. Rash of  Harrington, DE, daughter of the late Charles P.  and Bessie Mae Hawkins, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 20, 2016. She was 73 years old.

Mrs. Rash worked at Milford Stitching, Tastee Freez, Pensupreme, and various other locations in the area, as a general laborer, waitress, and cook. She was known to be a hard worker her whole life.

Sharon was a simple person that loved to be home with her family.  She was a jokester, who loved cats, cooking, watching tv, decorating her house, NASCAR (esp. driver Tony Stewart) and playing cards with her family. In her younger years she loved to dance and would go out every weekend with her sisters.

Besides her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Rash; brother, Ronald Hawkins;  and sisters Geraldine Taylor and  Barbara Silbereisen.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (James) Abear, Heather Cain,  Donna Anderson, Barbara Morgan, and Patricia Anderson; son, John Anderson, Jr; grandchildren, James Abear Jr, Jamie Lynn Abear, and Devi Rae Lynn Noble;  4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Roy (Leanna) Hawkins, Gloria Sylvester, Virginia (Charles) Hughes, Helen Gallo, Josephine (Jerry) Hayman, and Joyce Hughes; and her beloved cat, Casper.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2016, from 11am to 1pm at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy. Harrington DE. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE.
