Savanna "Sammi" R. Woodward

Savanna "Sammi" R. Woodward, Felton, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at her home, she was 15.  Sammi was born in Dover, to her parents, Cassandra and Jesse J. Woodward.

Sammi was a 9th grade student at Lake Forest High School of Felton.  She consistently maintained her grades to get on the honor roll every marking period, and was absolutely brilliant.  She loved to draw and listen to music.  She also loved to watch Sponge Bob and Family Guy on TV.  Family and friends were the center of her life.  She loved her brother deeply and loved picking on him, and fighting over the front seat of the car.  She loved to hang out with her friends as well, and she reached that age as we all do, and was looking forward to learning how to drive.  Her mom referred to her as her "Sweet Tooth Baby", as she liked her snacks, chips, and sweets.  Sammi had a love for animals, and was fond of her pets, Snowy and Diamond.

Sammi will be remembered most for her huge heart.  She was beautiful both inside and out, and her kindness always shone through in everything that she did.  She was a loving soul with beautiful blue eyes who made friends easily.  Her passing will forever leave a void in everyone's heart that knew her and whose lives she had touched.

In addition to her parents, "Mama and Papa" Cassandra and Jesse Woodward, she is survived by her best friend and big brother, Alex; Grammy and Poppy, Jack and Teresa Hutson; Aunts, Amanda, Miranda, Nikki; Uncles, Gary, Lloyd, David; cousins, Ashlyn, Jalissa, Alex, Mary, Gabe, Brayden; her soul sister, Autumn; second cousin, Axel; Great Grammy and Great Poppy, Edward and Nancy Colestock; and countless other friends and family who were blessed to have known her.

A Memorial Service for Sammi will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE at 7PM, with a visitation for family and friends from 5 to 7 PM.
