Ruth A. Poore

d. October 28, 2011

HARRINGTON - Ruth Poore, of Harrington, passed away October 28, 2011. She is the daughter of Eva Kline of Oxford, Pa. and the late Austin Kline.

Ruth worked at the Harrington Raceway and Casino since they first opened. She loved her job as a supervisor and enjoyed meeting and interacting with all the people. She never missed a day of work, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Mrs. Poore was a member of the US Trotters Association and the Harrington Moose Lodge.

Ruth loved animals especially her pony "Honey", her dog "Pudge" and her goats. She enjoyed going to the Dover Down Casino. Mrs. Poore loved Mondays because she got to spend time with her daughters; grandchildren; and her sister on her day off. She was a "ball of fire", always on the go and doing something. Mrs. Poore was a very likable person who never knew a stranger. She loved big vehicles and really enjoyed driving her Hummer. She will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Poore; daughters, Ruth Calhoun of Harrington and Rhonda Roberts of Dover; sisters, Eva May Hamm of Oxford, Pa, Tina Lankford of Felton, and Alice Wagner of Avon Park, Florida; brothers, J. Kenneth Kline of Sandtown and Theodore Kline of Marydel; and three grandchildren.
