Ruth N Jones

Ruth N. Jones, 92, of Felton, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lillian Swift. Ruth enjoyed working and was proud of the fact that she worked until the age of 79. She was a social butterfly that loved people. Ruth started her working career driving school buses. She then co-owned Peoples Restaurant from 1979-1991, and Shear Expectations with her sister, Kay.  She worked at Meatland as a cashier and customer service manager from 1991-2001 until they closed.  She then retired from Milford Walmart as a customer service manager in 2009.

Once Ruth retired, she enjoyed going to the slots, playing the lottery, and tending to her beloved cats.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, James Jones, son, Stanley “Butch” Jones, grandson Michael Zuchelli, and sister Kay Freck.

Ruth is survived by her children, Donald Jones (Mary Etta), Sandy Zuchelli (Larry), Bob Kline (Donna), and Cheryl Wesoja; grandchildren, Gina Zuchelli, Cassandra Yost, Brandi Sasoda, and Brandon Cashdon; great grandchildren, and brother, Wayne Swift.

A Funeral Service will take place at 12 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023, with a visitation starting at 11 AM, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE.  Interment will follow immediately after at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE.
