HARRINGTON — Ruth Ann Jenkins passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at the Compassionate Care Hospice-St. Frances Hospital in Wilmington. She was born to the late, Robert N. and Mary Ruth Melvin.
Mrs. Jenkins worked as a door greeter for the Milford Wal-Mart, and enjoyed what she did. Prior to Wal-Mart, she worked as a bartender at the Oaks, American Legion CKRT Post 7, and Stones all of Harrington.
Mrs. Jenkins enjoyed BBQ’s with her close friends and family. She was definitely one of a kind, known for her feisty stubborn nature who told you like it was. She was very ornery, but had a loving side and cared for her family, especially her daughter, Sandra. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Harrington American Legion CKRT Post 7, and the Harrington Moose Lodge.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jenkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Baker of Harrington; grandchildren, Joshua Brent Wilson, Hannah Renee Baker; and three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Heidi, and Olivia; and her well loved dog, Millie.
A Memorial Service will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at 6 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Legion CKRT Post #7, 17448 S. Dupont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952
