HARRINGTON - Ruth Dean of Harrington died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. She was 78. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Jane Donovan.
Mrs. Dean was a former member of Harrington Nazarene Church. She loved flowers, doing jigsaw puzzles, and enjoyed listening to old gospel hymns. She enjoyed cooking for her family. You could find her up to Hardee's doing her morning coffee club.
In the early 60's Ruth and Donald owned and operated the Esso service station in Harrington. During the 70's they ran the Dean's Rec Center and Hall by People's bank. She loved playing jokes, and always had a good sense of humor. She was very loving, caring, always forgiving and was always taking care of everyone. She gave unconditional love to her family.

She is survived by a son, Donald "DeeDee" Dean of Harrington; daughters, Donna Faye Wyatt and husband Gary of Greenwood, V. "Ginny" Cagle and husband Jerry of Harrington, Bonnie Dale Hughes and husband Kenny of Harrington. A sister, Rhoda Wright of Harrington. Seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dean; brothers, John Donovan, Leonard Donovan, and Willis Donovan; and sisters, Beatrice Greer, Dorothy Silverisen, and Evelyn Smith
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday Nov. 23, 2011 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
