Ruby Richardson, 87
HARRINGTON — Ruby Richardson passed away at Country Rest Home in Greenwood on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
Mrs. Richardson worked as a head cashier for Acme Market for many years. She was also a full time mom and raised her family with love.
In her spare time, she loved to sew and crotchet. She was so talented at crocheting that she could look at an item in a magazine and immediately be able to duplicate it. She crocheted countless placemats for family and friends as well as doll babies. She also enjoyed making quilts.
Along with her husband, she enjoyed camping. They camped in every single state in the United States except for two. As long as she was able, she also enjoyed hosting and cooking meals for her family. She was also quite the baker and everyone would fight over her cinnamon rolls.
She will be remembered as outgoing, friendly, and many referred to her as a sweetheart. Although at times she could be straight forward, she was generous and kind hearted. Her smile could light up any room, and she will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Independent Bible Fellowship Church in Harrington. She was also head of the Girls Auxiliary while she lived in Virginia.
Along with her parents Edward Lee and Carrie Webb, Mrs. Richardson is preceeded in death by husband, Marvin M. Richardson; brothers, Edward and Richard Webb; and sisters, Christine Kelley and Gladys Reed.
