Roy D. Dill, of Viola, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 from the Milford Center at the age of 77. He was the son of the late, Roy and Catherine Dill.
Mr. Dill served his country proudly in the U.S. Army prior to becoming a warehouseman. He worked for many years at Dover Electrical Supply Company before retiring from Consolidated Electrical.
Mr. Dill loved football, his favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He was also a devoted fan of the NY Yankees. In his younger years, Mr. Dill played on the Villa and Simplier Lumber softball teams. He was an avid reader, enjoyed Old Westerns and was a war history buff.
Mr. Dill was a quiet, nonjudgmental, unassuming man who showed his love through his actions. He would give the shirt off his back, was devoted to his friends, and was known as a good man with a good name. He loved his family deeply and immensely enjoyed watching his grandsons play football and softball.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dill is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Dill.
He is survived by his son, David Dill of Wilmington; daughter, Dawn Charney of Viola; sisters, Sylvia (Dick) Lander and Lisa (Jim) DeBruine; brother, Daniel (Sheila) Dill and 4 grandsons, Tyler and Michael Charney of Viola, Joshua and Andrew Dill of Newark.
Services will be private at the family’s discretion. .
