Ronald Lee Glessner

d. May 2, 2015

Ronald Lee Glessner, retired USAF, of Harrington, DE, passed away at home on Saturday, May 2, 2015, he was 78.

Mr. Glessner served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and the reserves for 20 years.  In the Air Force, he worked as an aircraft mechanic.   He was also involved and worked with the National Guard.

In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, and riding his bicycle and moped.  He was a good handyman and could fix just about anything.  He loved to go to country concerts and was adamant about watching the news, which he did three times a day.  Although he had a tough, strong willed, and determined nature, he was very loving as well.  He loved his family tremendously, and loved to spoil his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He had a strong Christian conviction, and made sure his children went to church.  He was truly a good and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Glessner attended the Pilgrim Chapel Church of Harrington, was a member of the Modern Maturity Center, and also with the Harrington and Greenwood Senior Centers.

Mr. Glessner was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and  Philip H. Glessner Sr.; and his siblings, Sally Haselbarth, Tom Glessner and Philip Glessner Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58  years, Patricia Glessner of Harrington; son, Daniel Lee Glessner of Clinton, MD; daughters, Pamela Jean Hanlon of Gambrills, MD, Cathy A. (Jeffrey) Mitchell of Laurel, DE, Kimberly K. Konialian of Baldwin, MD; brothers, Byron Glessner of Berlin, PA, Ralph Glessner of Salix, PA; sisters, Carolyn Custer of Berlin, PA, Esther Shuey of Campbelltown, PA; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
