Ronald Ray Gallo, 70 of Seaford, passed away on January 1, 2024, at Beebe Medical Center. He is the son of Ethel and the late Jesse Gallo, Sr. Ronald was a lab technician for Playtex Products in Dover for 31 years before moving to Florida where he worked for 15 years, and then retired from, Hydrogel Vision in Sarasota. He dedicated the past five years to being a member of the Bridgeville Lions Club.
Ronald loved to travel to Lancaster County, PA, and Florida with his wife, Elaine. He enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and San Franciso 49ers games; and listening to the Beatles. Ronald was an avid disc golf player and train fanatic. He enjoyed woodworking and metal detecting on Lewes Beach. Even as a child, Ronald was well-organized and known as a king of jokes. To Elaine, he was the most loving, caring husband, who enjoyed spending time at home with his family.
In addition to his father, Ronald is preceded in death by two of his beloved dogs, Abby and Maggie.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elaine Gallo; daughter, Tammy Megill (Mike); son, Paul “Chuckie” Gallo (Christine Cofield); grandchildren, Michael, Shannon, Maureen, and Collen Megill, and Logan, Areli and Lennon Gallo; sister, Lisa Mallard; brothers, Jesse Gallo, Jr and Glenn Gallo; his two dogs, Noelle and Phoebe, as well as all who know and laughed with him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bridgeville Lions Club, P.O. Box 414, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
A Memorial Service for Ronald will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 5 PM, with a visitation starting at 4 PM.
