Robert ‘Tuck’ Hutson

HARRINGTON — On Tuesday evening Jun. 21, 2017, Robert “Tuck” Hutson passed away quietly and peacefully surrounded by his family. A resident of Harrington, he was born to the late Carl and Mary Alta Hutson.

He grew up and worked on a small family farm near Felton before accepting employment with Playtex where he retired from 46 years later. He enjoyed more than 20 years of retirement camping, travelling and most importantly, spending time with his loving wife and family. He was a self-taught musician and loved playing his prized Gibson guitar. He loved spending time in his workshop and collecting anything John Deere.

In addition to his parents, Tuck was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley Hutson; his son, Dennis; and his brother, Carl Hutson Jr.

He is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” Hutson, Jr., and his wife Lori; daughter, Judy Townsend and her husband Rick; and daughter, Linda Niehorster and her husband Richard. He is also survived by his loving sister, Elva Irene Dill; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Tuck’s life will be held at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Hwy., Harrington at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jun. 27, 2017. Visitation with the family will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
