Robert Rothermel

Robert H. “Bobby” Rothermel, Felton, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 surrounded by his family, he was 70. He was the son of Harold Rothermel and the late, Shirley Rothermel.

Bobby worked as a lineman for Delmarva Power for many years. When he was not busy at work, he enjoyed spending time at the beach, riding his motorcycle, or working in his garage maintaining his bike or his red 1954 Chevy truck which he loved taking to car shows. He also loved working in his garden and keeping his property neat and tidy, and made sure to put up his American flag every day. As a young man, he enjoyed working on the Rothermel farm. Bobby looked forward to going on vacations, spending time with family, and his fiancée, Kathy. His number one goal in life was to be a provider to his family, later in life, he always made sure his granddaughter Briannah was taken care of and helped care for her horse. Bobby was known for his quick wit, positive attitude, and love of teasing. He truly loved his daughter, grandkids, and family more than life itself.

Bobby was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge #534 and the Southern Delaware Street Rod club.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Debra Rothermel and daughter, Lindsey Rothermel.

In addition to his father, Bobby is survived by his daughter, Tara Turcotte-Leyanna (Tim); grandchildren, Briannah Rothermel, Katelynn Brown, Connor Brown, and Samantha Leyanna; sister, Sandra Rothermel; and fiancée, Kathy Gooden.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Robert Rothermel memorial fund for Briannah Rothermel at WSFS bank.

A celebration of life service will be on July 27, 2024 at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 11 AM. A visitation will take place one hour prior starting at 10 AM.
