HARRINGTON — Robert Draper Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his home. He was born to the late Robert Draper Sr. and Evangalyn Draper Wyman.

Mr. Draper served his country proudly in the United States Army where he served three tours in Vietnam as part of a special forces unit, and became a highly decorated veteran. Mr. Draper was a member of the Ellendale VFW.

In his spare time, Mr. Draper enjoyed welding and carpentry work. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved gardening, especially growing strawberries.

He will be remembered as having a huge heart and always helping others who are in need. He loved to play jokes on people and have a good laugh. Everyone who met him adored him. He will be greatly missed by his close friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Draper.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Draper of San Bernardino, Calif., and Kevin Draper of Hagerstown, Md.; daughters, Catherine Draper and Sandra Draper both of San Bernardino, Calif.; sisters, Bonita and James Feeney of Davidson, N.C., and Patricia and Carl Boocks of Sykesville, Md.; brother, Steve and Suzanne Frutkoff of W.Va.; and his dog, Capias, who was his special canine friend, and by his side for the last 10 years.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
