Robert Allen Jester of Milford, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2014, from the Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 80. Mr. Jester was born to the late Rev. Roland F. and Georganna Jester.
Mr. Jester was a carpenter by trade. He was involved in construction for most of his life, and also did some masonry work.
When he was not working, Mr. Jester enjoyed playing his guitar. He loved his music, and loved to play as well as sing. He also loved to make wood crafts and give them as gifts to the family. Mr. Jester looked forward to family night and spending time with his family. He loved to joke around and have a good time. He was known for pushing your buttons to get a rise out of you and had quite the ornery streak. He was a true people person and never knew a stranger. He got along with almost everyone and never hesitated to strike up a conversation. His spunky upbeat and outspoken personality will forever be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in deathby his spouse, Ruth Ann Jester; brothers, Edward and Virgil Jester; sisters Isabel Morris and Violet Voshell.
He is survived by sons and daughter in laws, Mike (Deborah) Jester of Harrington, Thomas (Lyn) Jester of Lincoln, and Texas (Bobbie) Jester of Denton, Md.; daughters and sons in law, Candy (Neal) Carroll of Ellendale, Dale Davidson of Milford, Becky Crouse of Milford, and Margie (John) Pierson of Milford; brothers, Freddy Jester of Denton, MD; sisters, Ruth Biddle of Felton, Della Dixon of Felton; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at 1 PM, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
