HARRINGTON — Richard C. Knotts Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home. He was born to the late Earl and Mabel Knotts. Mr. Knotts worked as a surveyor for the State of Delaware through DelDot, for over 19 years. He was also a farmer and spent most of his spare time farming. He was a quiet but determined person. He loved to laugh and enjoyed a good practical joke. In his younger years, he loved to deer hunt and also loved to go out to dinner. He will be sadly missed.
He is preceded in death by his exwife, Ellen.
He is survived by his sons, Richard C. Knotts Jr. of Felton and Jeffrey F. Knotts of Greenwood; daughter, Sherry A. Blessing of Milford; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be sent to the Harrington Fire Company, 20 Clark Street, Harrington, DE 19952.
