Ralph A Reed

Ralph A. Reed, Felton, passed away at home on Monday, October 27, 2025, he was 60 years old. Ralph was born in Harrington, DE to the late, Lemuel E. and Mary Lillian Reed.

Ralph was a race horse trainer for many years. He was quite successful and enjoyed his job very much. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the horses and watching them race. In his free time, Ralph enjoyed puzzle books, watching movies, and listening to Hank Williams music. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching nature, especially all types of birds. He also liked to deer hunt and fishing. Ralph was quite the jokester and liked to joke around. He will be sadly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Charles, Lemuel, and Wayne Reed.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Beth” Reed; sisters, Nancy Reed-Thornburg, Bettyann Kemp, Amy Reed-Crites, Mary Ann Reed-Shatz, Shirley Reed, Kathryn Reed; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 2 PM, with a visitation starting at 1 PM, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Barratts Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help offset funeral expenses, payable to the funeral home. A link is provided at the bottom of the obituary.
