Perry E. Melvin Sr.

Perry E. Melvin Sr., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, he was 68.  He was born in Dover, DE to the late, James and Carlotta Melvin.

Perry worked as a maintenance mechanic for the Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill.  When he was not hard at work, he spent time going antiquing.  Antiques and old cars were his favorite things to be around.  He also enjoyed going to the American Legion and June Jam with his companion Patty.

Although Perry was strong willed and independent, he always went "all in" in whatever he chose to do.  He was very intelligent and a quiet man by nature, choosing to take everything in and observe what's around him.  He could be witty and funny at times, and loved spending time with family.  His loving and caring nature will be sadly missed.

Perry is survived by his children, Christine (Jon) Stanley, Perry (Dawn) Melvin Jr.; his significant other, Patty Tilley, and her children, Christina (Eric) Davidson, Johnny (Lena) Tilley; siblings, Paul McMullen, Joanne Martin, Rose Stanchick, Debbie Melvin; 6 grandchildren, Allison and Rebecca Lawson, Trevor and Cole Melvin, Eric Davidson II, Samantha Davidson.

Services for Perry will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at  12 PM.  A public visitation will be held starting at 11AM.  Interment will be at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
