Paul J. Kauffman Sr., Harrington, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 1, 2024, he was 78. Paul was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late, Alton B. and Coralyn June Kauffman.
Paul served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired after 20 years of service. He was involved with drug enforcement during Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart after he was wounded.
Paul enjoyed family gatherings, especially BBQs. He like to go shore fishing, bird watching, model trains, and wood working. Paul could be stubborn at times and set in his ways, but he would do anything for his family and friends. His friends were considered family to him. He was outgoing, easy to get along with and like to joke around. He will be sadly missed.
Paul was very involved with the American Legion and VFW. He was Past Commander of the Star Spangled Banner Memorial Post #10078 out of Baltimore, he served as the Maryland State Commander, and a member of the American Legion CKRT Post #7.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bryan Kauffman; and sister, Carol Kauffman.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Paul Kauffman Jr. (Ann Harbin), Nicolina Turner (Patrick), Latisha Kauffman, Bryan Kauffman (April); sisters, Brenda Boiling, Beverly Searfoss; 20 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service, with military honors, will be held at the American Legion, CKRT Post 7, 17448 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington, on Saturday August 10, at 1 PM.
