Patricia J. Sharp

Patricia "Pat" Sharp, of Dover, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, she was 75.  Pat was the daughter of the late, Ernest and Jenny Parker.

Pat graduated from college with a degree in teaching with plans on becoming a teacher.  However, she soon married and become a stay at home mother to her three sons.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading books, playing games, politics, crossword puzzles, and watching television.  Her favorite shows included Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, anything on the Western Channel, and the news.

Pat will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law and aunt.  Her caring and nurturing personality will be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Sharp; brothers, Herman "Bunk" Truitt, Dale Parker; sister, Elizabeth Dunlap; and a nephew, Tommy Truitt.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Sharp, Terry (Vanessa) Sharp, David (Emily) Sharp, all of Dover; grandchildren, Deneece Martin, Eric Sharp, Peyton Bowers, and Evan Sharp; her close friend, Alice Dill; nieces, Jenny Knapp and Janie Truitt.

Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:30 AM, with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to the Diabetes Foundation.
