Patricia "Patty" Burris

Patricia "Patty" M. Burris, Felton, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, she was 59.  She was born in Sacramento, CA to Larry and Patricia Romero.

Patty worked as a bus driver for the Lake Forest School District for 33 years, driving special needs students.  She drove with the same bus number 42 for all those years.  She loved her job tremendously and loved interacting with all her students and teachers.

In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, especially at Wal-Mart, doing arts and crafts, listening to her favorite 80's music, burning her favorite candle, and playing Bingo.  She loved spending time at home and taking care of her family as well.  Her family was the biggest joy in her life.  She loved her Native American Culture and being part of the Gila River Indian Community, and she loved participating and passing along her heritage to her family.

Patty will be remembered as a kind, selfless, and gentle spirit, who always put others above herself.  She was loving and kind, and always kept a positive outlook on life which she shared with everyone.  She always saw the kind in others, and was always very accepting of others.  Her beautiful smile lit up a room.  She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sons; Raymond Burris, Ryan Burris; husband, Willard Burris; siblings, Christina Teel, Frances Baker, Larry Romero; grandchildren, Carmen Burris, Rayla Burris, Ramon Burris; great grandchild, Khamani Whaley.

A Memorial Service for Patty will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, at 7 PM, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 5 PM.
