Parthena Dapias

Parthena Dapias, 80, Greenwood, passed away on March 14, 2025 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus. She was the daughter of the late Savvas and Despina Kelidis.

Parthena was a loving, family-oriented woman whose door was always open. She helped raise her grandchildren who thought of her as a second mother. Parthena enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and hosting gatherings. She loved her home country of Greece, loved Greek music, and knew all about the artists. Parthena would often say “God Bless America” because she was blessed living here. She was a “DYI” enthusiast with her own tool box to proudly take on projects, she enjoyed sewing, making her own tablecloths, curtains, and clothes. Parthena was not afraid of technology, often founding new recipes to try online. She loved to shop and was very good at finding discounts and coupons.

Parthena attended St. Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church in Lewes and the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean City. Parthena will be dearly missed by her family and community.

In addition to her parents, Parthena is preceded in death by her brothers, Pereklis and Stavros Kelidis.

Parthena is survived by her husband, John Dapias; children, Despina Rallis (Athanasios-Georgios), Socrates Dapias (Panagiota), and Stavros Dapias (Holly); grandchildren, Ioannis “Big Greek” Wilson (Taylor), Demitri “James” Wilson, Anastasia “Nancy” Beatty (Blaine), Addison Dapias, Yiannis Dapias, Socrates “Logan” Dapias, and Parthena “Priscilla” Ranelli (Robert); great grandchildren, Jonathon Carmine Ranelli and Ariana Jaymes Ranelli; and extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc. at 11 AM. A viewing will take place one hour prior starting at 10 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
