P. Jerry Cagle

P. Jerry Cagle, Harrington, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 7, 2024, he was 74.  Jerry was born in Chattanooga, TN, son of the late, Paul and Betty Cagle.

Jerry worked for Nanticoke Homes for many years as a purchaser.  He was also active in the National Guard which he was very proud of.

Jerry liked to stay active.  He enjoyed playing volleyball for Easter Seals, riding his bike for the MS Foundation charity, playing softball and even coaching girl's softball.  In high school, Jerry played football for Harrington High and was MVP in 1969.  Jerry also was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, and watching Raiders football.  Over the years, Jerry and his wife Ginny also fostered many children.

Jerry was outgoing and enjoyed talking to people.  He always had something funny to say and everyone enjoyed his humor.  He loved to give people a hard time in a joking way, and it earned him the nickname of "Trouble".  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his son, Michael "Jim" Parsons Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, V. "Ginny" Cagle; son, Christopher (Christina) Parsons; siblings, Randy E. (Kathy) Cagle, Donald "Donny" H. (Sheila) Cagle, Judy "Tony" Gaudino, Barbara Bunting, Gay Davis; grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Rennaker, Michael "Jimmy" Parsons Jr., Rachel Parsons, Ben Parsons, great grandchildren, Bernadette, Amelia, Payton.

A Funeral Service for Jerry will be on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1 PM, with a visitation taking place one hour prior to the service, starting at 12 noon.  Interment will be at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.  Jerry liked to keep it casual, so casual attire is highly encouraged.
