Otis L. Scott Jr.

d. October 27, 2013

GREENWOOD - Otis L. Scott Jr. of Greenwood passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was 85. Born to the late Olga and Otis Lee Scott Sr.

Mr. Scott graduated from Duncan High School in Duncan, Oklahoma. After graduation, he served his country proudly in the National Guard where he was called into active service during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Scott was a hard worker. Most oftentimes, he worked two jobs and stayed quite busy. He retired from the SouthWestern Bell Telephone Company after 30 years. He also was a photographer. He was hired for many weddings and also took pictures for Nanticoke Homes. At one time he sold life insurance, burial plots, worked in collections, repossesor, and even had a gutter and garage door installation business. To say he was a hard worker is an understatement.

When he was not busy working, Mr. Scott enjoyed RVing. He loved to travel with his wife and went as far as Alaska and Nova Scotia. Mr. Scott was a friendly man who never met a stranger. He talked to everybody and made friends easily. He was a devout family man who adored the love of his life, his wife Mary, and loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren tremendously. His zest for life will forever be cherished and remembered.

Mr. Scott attended the Crossroad Community Church and was a member of the Pioneers Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Scott; and brother, Jerry Scott.

He is survived by son and daughter in law, Max (Betty) Scott of London, Kentucky; daughters and sons in law, Susan (Bob) Moore of Greenwood, Carol (Bruce) Jenkins of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
