O. David “Dave” Reinsmith, of Milford, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, from the Milford Center, Milford. He was 82. He was born in Freeland, PA to the late Herbert and Mable Heller Reinsmith.
Dave served his country proudly in the Unites States Navy, for four years, during the Korean Conflict. He served stateside the entire time and was honorably discharged. Dave worked for the Patterson Parchment Paper Co. for many years in Bristol, PA. He then worked at the Jeanes Hospital in Langhorn, PA, where he was in charge of all charitable donations and made sure the monies were distributed properly. He retired from there in 1993.
Dave enjoyed visiting the Oxford Valley Mall and the Neshaminy Mall everyday to hang out with his friends. He looked forward to spending time with this family and loved to visit them. Dave was very good with his hands and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. At the young age of 4, he and his brother knitted items for the war effort. They had several articles written about this endeavor. He continued to knit his entire life, and made countless items for friends and family. Dave will be remembered as having a warm heart, loving, and very charitable. He will be greatly missed.
Dave was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Penndel, Pennsylvania, St. Johns Reformed Lutheran Church, Freeland, PA, American Legion, Solomon Masonic Lodge where he was a member for over 51 years. He served through all of the chairs and became a Grand Master.
He was preceded in death by his God Parents who raised him, Ernest and Mary Reinsmith Nesler; wife, Mae Welcz Reinsmith; brother, Curtis Reinsmith; twin brother, William James Reinsmith.
Survivors include Barbara and Gary Iles of Harrington, DE, Eileen Karlick of Freeland, PA, Amy Grohol of Milton,DE, William and Luarne Heller of Groton, CT, Judith Nesler McKnitt, and many great cousins.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, Interment will take place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorn, PA.
