Norman S. Wix, 93

HARRINGTON — Norman S. Wix passed away peacefully on Thurs., May 7, 2015, from his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wix was born in Harrington to the late Norman P. and Nettie S. Wix.

Mr. Wix retired from DuPont in Seaford, as a power service operator, after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Eastern  Shore Fox Hunters Association, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He also enjoyed going to harness races, and loved to garden.

Mr. Wix can be described as “one of a kind”. He was featured on the Scorchy Tawes show twice. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help others, esp. his friend Bill Wise.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 74 1/2 years, Kathryn M. Wix of Harrington; sons, Barry M. (Sherry) Wix of Seaford, Bruce N. Wix of Greenwood, Brett O. (Brenda) Wix of Harrington; grandchildren, Tammy Wix Donovan of Milford, Kevin Wix of Greenwood, Shawn Wix of Seaford, Brian Wix of San Francisco, Calif., Nikki Zook of Washington, D.C., Justin Zook of Milford; and six great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Mon., May 11 from 1-2 p.m. at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Interment and funeral service will be private.
