FELTON - Norman E. Tribbett passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. Son of the late Samuel C. and Eunity M. Tribbett.
Mr. Tribbett worked at Whiteline as a compact trash operator. He worked at various other jobs including Swift, Perdue, Hess Gas Company, Richardson and Robbins Poultry Plant, General Foods, and the Harrington Slots. Mr. Tribbett loved baseball. He coached and managed Little League for over 40 years. He loved all sports and most often times could be found tuned into the sports channel on TV. He was a man of habit, and every night at 8PM he had to have his bowl of ice cream. He also enjoyed going out to eat, his favorite dish was fried chicken. He was proud of the fact that his high school class of 1957 donated the walkway lights at the Lake Forest North Elementary school in Felton.
Mr. Tribbett is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce S. Tribbett; also as Norman was the youngest of 14 children, all of his siblings but one sister has preceded him in death.
Norman is survived by his sister, Mabel Tribbett of Felton and many nieces and nephews.
The service will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica
