Norman E. Cathcart

Norman E. Cathcart of Milford passed away at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2018.  He was 81 years old.  He was the son of the late, Charles and Leona Cathcart.

Norman proudly served in the US Air Force. After his time in the Air Force he worked as an Electrician for Lucent/Nokia.

Norman was a member of  Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington, and the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.  He was a one of a kind person, who thought of everyone before himself, and never met a stranger, Norman took pleasure in helping others. He was a wonderful husband and a good provider.  He was quiet, observant, and a jack of all trades who knew a little something about everything.  Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his church and doing work around the church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Cathcart; son, Chuck (Cindy) Cathcart; daughter, Pam (Joe) Rykiel; grandchildren, Veronica (Jordan), Bob (Megan), Jessica, Cody (Leena), Tyler; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE, on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 6 PM.  A visitation for family and friends will take place 2 hours prior to the service from 4 to 6 PM.
