Michael Francis Cahill, Harrington, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at his home, he was 74. Mr. Cahill was born in Norristown, PA to the late, Doris and Joseph Howard Cahill.
Mr. Cahill graduated in 1967 from the Bishop-Kenrick High School in Norristown, PA. He spent the majority of his life doing what he loved, which was farming, and owned several farms Pennsylvania. He enjoyed having a large vegetable garden every year, and tending to his flower gardens. He also raised steer, chickens, pigs, and ducks on his farm. Mr. Cahill also retired as an electrician from the IBEW Local Union 380 after 36 years of employment.
Mr. Cahill and his wife, Mary moved to Delaware in 2006 where they enjoyed retirement. He enjoyed countless hours with his toy train collection. He made friends easily and everyone who spent time with him got to experience his colorful sense of humor and his spontaneous priceless one-liners. His personality was cheerful and upbeat and he was capable of talking to anyone for long periods of time with his stories and jokes. He enjoyed political philosophy and attending local political meetings and events. Mr. Cahill was a good family man who always took care of his family and will be forever missed.
Mr. Cahill was a longtime member of the IBEW Local Union 380, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, the Eastern Division Train Collectors Association, and a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church of Harrington.
He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher P. Cahill; brother, Joseph M. Cahill; and his wife, Mary A. Cahill.
He is survived by his brother, Robert P. (Mary) Cahill; and nephews, Patrick, Timothy, Brian, Daniel, Donald; niece Karen; several great nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Cahill will be at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11AM. A visitation for family and friends will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE, at 10 - 10:45AM. Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
